Embedded Control Module (JPL-3368A)

Originally, this embedded control module has been developed as protocol controller for GPIB embedded controler. However, it is more flexible and can be used as embedded controller in many other areas. The JPL-3368A is based on Microchip MCU, has CAN controller, one serial port either RS232C or RS485 and 53 bidirectional I/O lines with interrupt. It has an expansion connector with 8 bit data bus and 6 bit control bus lines, SPI, reset and clock signals.

The instrument can be powered either from non-regulated DC power supply 6V to 12V or from regulated DC power supply +5V.

The embedded controller can be used for multiplatform LAN based CAN bus network. CAN bus allows up to 110 nodes w/o repeater with length of 40m at speed of 1 Mbit or 1000 m at 50 kbit speed. Each node is connected via RS232C to CAN bus network.

With the ZIF-DIL48 socket connected to this embedded controller's I/O connector with a flat cable, we can provide easy integrated circuit tester. The board is connected to PC or other computer via RS232C. The test software runs on PC with Windows XP or Windows 7. Currently is suported approx 800 various TTL circuits and bipolar vintage circuits made by AMD.
